Welcome to the West Virginia Department of Transportation’s Geospatial Transportation
Information (GTI) main page. This site is designed as a centralized resource
for spatial information, relating to transportation in West Virginia. GTI provides
the following products and services:
enterprise data integration, road inventory,
mapping, geospatial products and applications to help the decision making process.
The West Virginia DOT has established an enterprise spatial database on Microsoft
SQL Server 2005 utilizing ESRI ArcSDE technology. This advancement in technology at
the West Virginia DOT
will allow integration of many of the existing relational
databases with the new West Virginia DOT’s Linear Referencing System in GIS.
This integration will allow assets and projects to be graphically displayed on
West Virginia’s transportation network and use all the benefits of a Geographic
Information System (GIS).
